有晴天, 有阴天,

不可能无风无浪的,

只要顺其自然,就一定挺得过去

    JCS results

    16 12 2008

Gotten back my JCS results for yr 2008 (Japanese, Intermediate level)

Relook at my previous posts, I have estimated 290/350 for my result, which is about 82.86%

Seemed that it is quite accurate.. coz I got abt as well..

    • Grammar/Vocabulary 89/100
    • Listening 32/50
    • Dictation 45/50
    • Writing 48/50
    • Oral 50/50
    • Essay 37/50

    Total: 301/350

    Rank: 79th/394

Ok some plus and minus in the individual tests, but they all add up abt the same 80+++%  hehee =p =)

I wanted to get abt 90% like last year’s JCS results in Beginner level… but I guess I just have to be satisfied with such results =)

Thank you Lord for your guidance *muack*

    China trip (ii)

    11 12 2008

Xi An is not as cold as I thought or prepare it to be… So some of my thicker winter clothing are not really used…. perhaps I will use them when I am in Beijing this weekend..

Biz trip was quite packed and busy with meetings …  I still managed to squeeze in a trip to Tang Paradize, 大唐芙蓉园 yesterday night. Though some of our colleagues suggested we (my Sg colleague and I)  go during the day so we have more time to look around the Tang Paradize, we do not really have this luxury. We left office at abt 6.45pm and reached there abt 7.35pm. At that time, we then realized that the place closed abt 9pm!! 1hr++ to see the whole place.. is indeed a short time… but we were already all the way there, so we paid RM68 to enter. We only managed to see the Water Show and some buildings from outside.. it was cold…

We also had Steamboat dinner tonight with colleagues at a quite new and posh restaurant, 深海世界鲍鱼翅海鲜火锅 (at 西安科技二路店).. yummy… we had our own mini steamboats and u know what they had very coolz induction cookers, embedded in the table.. So it was like this…. We were amazed!! hahaa

Not our first steamboat here, we had Steamboat also last night after our Tang Paradize trip.. it was very shiok to eat steamboat in a cold place.. =)

    Fotos to be updated later..

    China Trip

    10 12 2008

Air China is very punctual. Flight is at 9.30am, last call was at 8.50am. I entered the gate abt 9am. By 9.15am, we were all seated in the plane.. getting ready to take off.

One slight thing that I have to complain is that you need to claim ur luggage first and re-check in for your next domestics flight. Like for me, my final destination is to Xi-An and I need to transit in Beijing. They only transit in Beijing, Cheng Du and Shang Hai for SG-XiAn journey. In Sg, when I checked in, they will give you 2 tickets, one for SG-Beijing and one for Beijing-XiAn. However, you need to re-check in ur baggage to another counter when u reach in Beijing. Over there, they didn’t issue any tickets for u or the baggage, but just take in ur baggage and write the gate of ur next flight. Such process, if could be simplified, will be better.

Beijing terminal is definitely much bigger than Cheng Du terminal. At least there are shops that you can visit. I remembered when I transit in Cheng Du years back, it was like dead town in the transit airport.. hahaa Beijing Terminal 3 – currently the biggest airport in the world. You definitely can get lost over here, esp if you need to do all those luggage claim, pass through custom, pass through security check, re-check in, and get to ur gate. But as long as you can speak mandarin and you have enough transit time (1hrs min for a relax time), you should do fine, like me! Temperature in airport is not very cold, I survived in my Tshirt and cargo pant. But just take note, when u get off from airplane, you may need to get ur jacket ready as it may not be indoor then. When I reached Beijing, I need to board the airport bus to our destination. So I just wear my pull-over and cap – and I am ready. =)

    Xi-An here I come… =D

    JLPT3

    7 12 2008

    Finally it is over..
There was some ‘warning’ abt not to release any info (though I am not sure what kind of info they are referring) .. but anyway… I almost forgotten all qs also..

I am just so glad that it is over and now I can start packing my bag and prepare for my biz trip. Meaning .. I can get on with my life… have been confining myself at home these weeks.. getting fatter… getting more anti-social (AS) … hahaa .. Now can trully enjoy my trip and the coming festive seasons.. *Yiiippiiee*

I just hope I managed to pass my paper. God hear my prayer.

    Thank you

    JLPT3 preparation – 2007

    5 12 2008

    Hmm… so busy… can’t really catch a breath nowadays..

Was busy in work.. esp busy as there are reviews and also preparation for my biz trip next week… lots to prepare to make the biz trip effective and efficient…. Need also to prepare clothing as it will freezing over there… No time .. No time…. *heart beating fast*

Yet at the same time, my heart cannot be totally there in work.. as I also need to prepare for my JLPT3 paper!! I just can’t seem to juggle well… *double Sigh*

Yes .. IT IS COMING!!!!!!!!!1 This sunday (07.12.2008) will be my fate day.. *gulp*

I really feel that I will fail this paper.. and it is not surprising coz firstly I will so stupid to understand the qs, and even in 2007, the passing rate is only 63%!! My fate will be like these 488 that failed the JLPT3 paper last year… Oh God… *sobs*

Been trying to study these few weeks, but concentration level is really low.. and now the day is coming… concentration & seriousness is coming back .. but alas…. ‘jikan ga arimasen’ (no time)…. -___-”"

I tried JLPT3 paper 2007 last night to test myself and prepare for the big day..

My Kanji sucks, scoring like 12/20 in first section. Need to buck up on this. My vocabs is worse! I score badly for my section 3, 4 and 5 for the Writing/Vocabulary paper. So total 39/75 = 52/100! Dieeee… Time is no problem for me, I managed to do this paper within 35 min time frame, coz mostly just ‘tickam’ (guess) here and there… hahaa >.<

As for my Listening paper, I always score 5/12 and 5/11 for both section respectively. Or even worse. So best score I can get is 43/100 for this. Time frame of 35mins should not be a problem also, as it is either u listen and understand or not..

As for the Reading/Grammar,  This will be my crucial paper, that determine if I can pass my JLPT3 or not, since Listening and Writing/Vocabulary papers are normally suicidal (can’t count on them!). My particle section (Section1) is quite strong with 26/30 (2 incorrect), Form section (Section 2) is not very good (16/30), section 3 is is also half-past six (8/16). I should be proud that i scored full marks in section 4, 5 and 6 (and I think I need to score such in order to pass!!). And that gives me 93/119 = 156/200! Not the best score.. Again. timing of 70mins seems ok also.

Total add up: 251/400 , that gives me 62.75%!

    FAILED!

I am very sianz as I noted down somewhere from my teacher that I need 70% to pass for my JLPT3! *double gulp*

I really feel like NOT going for my JLPT3 paper this sunday..

    ….

    …….

    ……….

Wait a minute, I think passing rate is 60% for JLPT3?? Is it true?? I later saw this info from the JLPT registration phamplet… Passing marks for JLPT2/3/4 are 60% and above, while passing marks for JLPT1 is 70% & above…

Can anyone tell me & confirm with me…. which is true??

if it is 60%, i may still have slight chance.. and if yes, I shall go for it…

God, pls give me the concentration to study, the brain to absorb everything, the wisdom to answer all my questions correctly, the courage to go through my JLPT3 and the mercy to pass my JLPT3.

    Thank you Lord!
