Today is my beautiful Idol Fann Wong 范文芳 ’s customary chinese wedding dinner with Christopher Lee 李铭顺 ！Yes they are getting married!!  Fann Wong and Christopher Lee’s Chinese customary wedding dinner is on 29th Sept 2009 while their ROM was 16th May 2009, they have been in courtship for 9yrs. I think it all started with drama星锁..  How sweet and nice!! =)

To prepare themselves for ‘The Wedding of The Year’, the bridesmaids and groomsmen of local MediaCorp artistes, Christopher Lee and Fann Wong were up and about at 4am early this morning. The girls headed to Shangri-La hotel for hair and makeup before they made their way to Fann’s house for the groom’s arrival.

Fellow MediaCorp artiste, Patricia Mok, led the pack of eight bridesmaids which consists of Constance Song, Yilin, Dawn Yeoh, Fan Wen Qing (Fann’s sister) and many more. The chatty girls were at all smiles, patiently waiting for Chris’s arrival at Fann’s Boulevard Residences apartment.

At 7.30am sharp, Chris finally arrived at the lobby of Fann’s apartment with his gang of 20 brothers which includes both current and ex-MediaCorp actors. The “sisters” immediately got their act together and informed the groom that he had to go through four different tests before he can finally pick up his lovely bride.

The first test: Curry rice

For the first round, Patricia specially purchased Chris’s favourite dish, curry rice and explained, “Chris will have the ability to care for himself and for the rest of Fann’s life after eating the curry rice.”

The groom and his ravenous bunch of “brothers” gobbled the five packets of curry rice in a span of five minutes, easily completing the first round of test. To prevent the groom from dirtying himself, Fann’s thoughtful bridesmaids even arranged for Chris to don a bathrobe over his tailored suit.

The second test: Porridge with wine

Following their courtship story which saw Chris cooking a bowl of porridge for Fann when she was sick, Patricia specially prepared a bowl of porridge with additional ingredients for the unsuspecting groom. She poured in a generous amount of vodka and XO wine into the porridge and chuckled, “You really love alcohol!”

Before Chris could help himself to the concoction of porridge and alcohol, Patricia exclaimed, “I want a mouth! I want Chris to feed me!”

After complying with her requests, the actress cheekily commented, “Not bad!” The second round also proved to an easy feat for Chris and his band of brothers as they gobbled it up in a few months.

The third test: Name your past collaborations
After two satisfying meals, Chris was posed with a memory challenge next and had to write down the titles of his past 10 collaborations with his bride. The confident groom beamed from ear to ear and said, “Apart from me, who else will be clearer about this? Let me tell you, we have not collaborated for more than 10 productions!”

The groom proceeded to list his nine different productions with Fann. The motley crew of sisters requested for another production title and was teased by Chris’s groomsmen for their mix-up.

Patricia gamely volunteered to do pushups to amend for their mistake despite her fellow sisters’ protests. It was a close shave for the girls as the groomsmen attempted to break through their barrier and almost made their way through the lobby doors up to Fann’s apartment.

The fourth test: Kiss the white radish

Chris’s last test was also the trickiest test prepared for him. The cheeky Patricia wanted to test his “kissing skills” and inserted a coin into a white radish and wanted Chris to extract the coin with his mouth.

The groom protested, “My kissing skills are no good! Fann knows it too!” Despite his initial protests, he had no choice but to comply with the test. After a few attempts, he finally succeeded in extracting the coin in one big breath.
The entire gatecrash session between Fann’s group of sisters and Chris’s brothers lasted for a good 30minutes and the anxious groom finally made his way up to Fann’s apartment at 8.05am.

At 8.25am, together with Fann and her father, the trio arrived at the lobby basement. Following Chinese traditions, Fann’s father held a red umbrella over his darling daughter whose face radiated with happiness as she walked out of the elevator with her arms tightly linked with Chris’s.

Politely thanking reporters for their well-wishes and blessings, the newly-weds proceeded with their wedding rituals and left for their next wedding destination at Shangri-La hotel for the tea-ceremony.

 Fann Wong has became romantically attached to Christopher Lee in late 2002, but only admitted their relationship openly in mid 2005. So their almost 7 years relationship has finally blossomed, and it is about time as both are not getting young. Both are 38 years old this year, with Fann Wong is abt 6mths older.

They have collaborated eight times in the television productions and have played lovers in six of them.

And of course, I am loving my ever- beautiful idol Fann Wong!! *Yeah*

The solemnisation ceremony today 16th May 2009 will be held in the presidential suite of the Shangri-la Hotel. They would leave for Malacca soon after they exchange vows. This is so that the newlyweds can return to Christopher’s hometown to pay respect to his ancestors, including his father who died on 10th Feb 2009. And according to the chinese custom, a couple will either have to hold the wedding within 100 days of a close kin’s feath or wait three years. So after the solemnisation, the BIG day will be on 29th Sept 2009 where the traditional Chinese wedding, including tea ceremony and wedding dinner, will be held at Shangri-la Hotel. The dinner in Malacca for Christopher’s Malaysian relatives and friends will be at Renaissance Malacca Hotel on 11th Oct 2009. After than, Fann and Christopher plan to leave for their honeymoon.

Watched this movie – Dance of the Dragon -with Jo at The Cathay at 9.45pm

 

Nowadays Movie online booking via Credit card can be very convenient and hazzle-free.. Just book ur movie tickets online, choose ur seats, provide ur credit card details… payment is then made on spot.. Once reach the theatre, queue up to get ur movie tickets. Said that u booked online, pass them ur credit card, they just slide down ur credit card, and printed out the movie tickets while confirming with you the movie details.. And ur off to see ur movie.. NEAT! =)

Quite a slow paced movie.. and I do not really into slow movies most of the times…

Jo was blaming me for seeing this show together with me.. just coz of my Fann Wong is acting in it!! hahaa… She thought the CNY movie Ah Long Pte Ltd featuring Mark Lee and Fann Wong was much better! hahaaa

Just like the way he planned the proposal. Christopher described how he went on bended knee to ask Fann on the second day of Chinese New Year, in front of some 20 people, including her family and their friends.

She said yes – of course.

The actor enlisted the help of good friend David Gan to get the perfect ring – a $50,000 two-carat solitaire with tiny diamonds around its platinum band.

NO, they aren’t sure when they will marry. But Fann Wong and Christopher Lee are sure it will not be a shotgun wedding. Pregnancy rumours had surfaced recently, after a supposed sighting of the actress ordering milk in a French restaurant. Speaking to The New Paper on Wednesday, the slender Fann laughed and said she has been teased mercilessly by her co-workers while filming a Channel 8 drama. ‘Actually my baby has already been born and we’re throwing a first-month party for it in Studio 6,’ she added mischievously. She is referring to the MediaCorp studio where she will be filming indoor scenes from next month. She plays a mentally disturbed career woman, opposite Pierre Png. Fann, 37, likes children, but it does not bother her that pregnancy gets harder after age 35. ‘I’m already past that, so what difference does a few more years make?’ Of course, a few more years can make a difference, but never mind. Marriage, she said, ‘is an important phase in life, so we must plan it well and not be too casual’. While she finds shotgun weddings acceptable, ‘it doesn’t mean I’m going to practise it’. David, who dabbles in jewellery design, said he bought two four-carat heart-shaped rings in 2001. But when this reporter suggested that Fann hold a press conference, she blushed and fanned her face. ‘That’s too exaggerated!’ Fann had revealed, in the latest edition of Her World magazine, that Christopher had proposed and she had accepted. ‘It was quite romantic,’ she added, without giving details. PICKING A DATE Christopher, however, was glowing with joy when asked how he popped the question. ‘I wanted to give her a surprise, but all the dates I picked, I found out she’s either working or not in Singapore,’ he said. ‘It’s not intentional, but I was left with no choice but Chinese New Year, where everyone would be around.’ While he prepared the ring with David’s help, he was unable to find a bouquet of flowers to complete the romantic picture. ‘Without her knowing, my friends and I were looking for flowers all over Singapore, but not one (florist) was open (during the festive period),’ he lamented. Still, he got down on one knee and proposed to Fann during a big gathering at a friend’s house, with Fann’s family members also present. ‘She was shy but very touched. That’s why she accepted my proposal… We were both very happy.’

Dream fulfilled with Fann Wong

I was having team building last Friday at-Sunrise and Legends (will blog abt it later) … To my delight, I was fortunate to bump into Fann Wong in the morning, they were having shot-scene in Fort canning there.. (think it should be the drama that Jackson is acting in also…. my guess). She was sitting down, reciting her script and waiting for her turn (i guess) …. so I pluck my courage…. and went to ask if I can take photo with her and also shake hands with her…. *blissful & smiley me* *wide grin*

I was like a little girl.. hoohoohoo

Here was our conversation… we spoke in chinese/mandarin.. =)

Me: Hi Fann Wong, I really like you, Can I take photo with you?

FW: Eh… ok (She was hesistant in beginning, coz there was a group of us there.. she thought everyone wanted to take photo… she didn’t wanna create commotion and disturb the acting scenes)

Me: Thank you…

We took 2 photo shots.. only 1 looked ok.. coz after 1shot, Fann Wong said cannot use flash (maybe afraid that it will affect the drama scenes that was acting at one side..) So with no flash, it really take a steady hand to get a clear pic.. so my 2nd pic is blurr… *sianz*

Me: I really like you, pls continue to jia you.. *smiles* (offering my hand out to her… and shake her hands)..

FW: Thank you.  (She smiles back..)

She looked pale… and she is v thin… dunno if it was the image of her character in the drama… or if it was too early in the morning… 9am….  or if she is always this thin and pale… Maybe has to be that ‘white’ so it will look pretty and nice on tv… but still it brighten my day for being able to see her in real person and have close encounter (even though it is very brief) with her…

Jo said.. “Woah!! You finally met her and took pictures with her!! Dreams fulfilled!”
