Not understanding – SMRT system/Staff

8 07 2007

I forgot/lost my wallet on my way out to Bugis to attend my Jap class. And I am already in Eunos MRT, with no key, no card, and no $$ (What can be worse than these!! z)

So what shall I do?? Call for help ( but 远水救不了近火), wait for my housemates to come back, skip my jap class (I love my Jap class, hate to skip it..), borrow $$ from strangers..  or…..

I have decided..

Finally, I plucked up my courage and walked toward the Eunos MRT Station Counter, and said, “Excuse me, can I borrow some $$?”

“Hehh?!?” the lady-in-duty commented…

*like as if I’m asking a ridiculous qs*

I explained I lost my wallet/card thus cannot go to my destination.

And 远水救不了近火, I was also in a rush to go for my Jap class..

After knowing my situation, her tone is much better, saying, “I can give u a free pass to Bugis, but I need ur particulars – name & IC”

After keying in the particulars, she turned around, and said in an unfriendly manner, “u have lost ur card also last year also, why u always lost ur  card??”

snickering.. Attitude turned bad..

I cannot remember really if I have lost my card last year (most prob I do, since I am such a blur-headed)..

Well……as if i want to lose my card *stupid* rolleyes

I do not want to lose my wallet/$$/card..etc  I never want to..

She ‘threatened’ me by saying, “I can help u this time, but since last year u also lost ur card, then it will be 2nd time for u. So next time, we cannot issue any free pass to you anymore (meaning no more help!)…” grumph

I said at most i pay them back the cost of the 2 rides… she said it is not abt $$..

Ohhh yeahh…

WTF .. if it is not $$ ..err

Yeah it may not be her fault, it maybe just the system is … But then, when ur helpless like losing ur wallet, and nowhere near ur home/destination, having no MRT card neither $$ to go anywhere, who will u approach for help? Yes, u can ask the passer-by, I have not be such thick-skinned to do that till now.. So my next resolution is to ask the SMRT staffs over the MRT Counter. Well it is not as if I am trying to earn extra free ride for nothing.

How much we spend everyday at transportation? min $3 a day? With this amt spend everyday for 365 days, that is abt $1095 (conservative amt) a year. And I have been taking transport since my school days – that is 20years ago.. Not considering long long time ago, just considering my working days, I will have spend $5k in total.. and many more to come.. (still counting….) Isn’t that make me liable to have some creditability in MRT service??

-updated-

Talking about creditability, credit card also have such rules. The more good record you have, the more great offers they offer to you, knowing you r a good customer who will pay the $ or whatever interest in time. Good record.. like 有借有还, 再借不难。

Otherwise, they can be like the immigration department, where if we lose our passport, it will be noted down at the back of our passport. But once we found our passport, we can report back to the immigration, and they will mark off our ‘black’ records of losing our passport.. A second chance.. for those who r forgetful, careless pple like me..

-updated-

Second chance… even the ex-prisoners are asking for second chance.. It is not as if I have committed a BIG crime, like drunk driving and hit-run or even murder… I am just the harmless and lost lady who just lost my wallet and in need of help…. Can’t you offer ur kind help and extend your goodwill? Will it kill you?? Why with the conditions…

Ok back to the scene! In the end, I said maybe I can borrow $ from some others.. She said well it is up to u.. “Very helpful” of her huh?!?!?! *roll eyes*

But I was already very late, very desperate.. Dun wanna to go through the same humilating stuffs again… so I took her offer. She gave me a letter to give to Bugis station staff.

And I finally managed to attend the Jap class, and I borrowed $20 from a classmate(since Jo is overseas (thus skipped/missed  the Jap lesson)) so I could buy something on the way back and plus bought a MRT ticket home.. *Phheeeeww*

Friends r nice.. no need very close friends.. At least, they trust you and give u some credit when u borrow $ from them… Unlike SMRT service, only $1++ … they also dun give u any credit.. 很现实 zz

Thank you, Miss/Madam Ng Mui Phin for the ‘experience’..

See if I am free (need to pass up assignments and prepare for exams), I will write into Straits Time on this entry and clarify personally with SMRT.

Disappointment

Went to Velvet Dragon again last night to pre-celebrate friend’s bd..  OMG it is totally different compared to the experience I had last time. Blog abt it the other time..

Lots of kids… all boys shorter than me… Music sucks… (juskawaime likes retro music for clubbing)… Bad experience..  I wonder if it is because it is saturday nite??

We went to Velvet Dragon (first time) last time on Friday night.. And it was FUN! Lets see if there is any chance to go to Friday night again… If it is as suck as last night… then bye bye forever to Velvet Dragon (unless very exclusive special occassion)

*sianz*

Oh only fun thing is of course, being together with friends and being there for a bd-friend. And also went for supper at S11 (near Chinatown – beside OG). Had tissue prata ~~ YUMMY… slurp Oh no.. need to diet actually….

Shall start diet on Monday *I promise*

The One That Got Away

In your life, you’ll make note of a lot of people. Ones with whom you shared something special, ones who will always mean something. There’s the one you first kissed, the one you first loved, the one you lost your virginity to, the one you put on a pedestal, the one you’re with …and the one that got away.

Who is the one that got away?

I guess it’s that person with who everything was great, everything was perfect, but the timing was just wrong. There was no fault in the person, there was no flaw in the chemistry, but the cards just didn’t fall the right way, I suppose. I believe in the fact that ending up with someone, finding a long time partner that is, does not lie merely in the other person. I can actually argue that an equal part, or maybe even the greater part, has to do with the matter of timing.
