Julianne & Derek

16 11 2008

As I have mentioned, Julianne was absent from Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) for 2 weeks from Appendix operation.. (I also had such operation when I was in Primary 5, donkey years ago..) But wait a minutes, hers is not so simple. Julianne had been diagnosed with endometriosis, which arises when uterine-lining (endometrial) tissue grows outside the uterus… This is genetic and hereditary, her mother and sister have it too. So doctors ended up removing cysts from her left ovary, her bladder, and other areas in the pelvic region, and also took out her appendix after diagnosing a mild case of appendicitis.

Thus I was not really expecting her to dance in the result night.. Therefore I was really delighted by the yummy treat from DWTS of this performance of Julianne Hough and her brother, Derek Hough… in Macy’s Dance star performances, dressed with the best costume by Kelly Killy.. People voted Julianne and Derek as the people’s pro choices.. So here are their wonderful jive dance..

I just so adore them!!!!! Love everything abt this dance performance, very fun, very exciting, very very fabulous…

View their Jitterbug performances, with almost perfect 30 scores, with their Stars Brooke here and Cody here

Of all dancing pros, these are my 2 most favs..

  1. Julianne Hough
  2. Derek Hough
  3. Mark Ballas
  4. Edyta Sliwinska

Also catch an interview of Julianne about her operation and ready for more ‘dancing’ here, she also mentioned her bf, Chuck Wicks. The 20-year-old Dancing with the Stars starlet and 29-year-old singer began dating while participating in Paisley’s ongoing summer tour, which Hough said is strange since they were both so busy. Below is also a letter from her, extracted from Fancast:

Speaking of stitches, my surgery was good. It was scary. It was supposed to take an hour but took 45 minutes longer. It was a good thing I went in because not only did I have the endometriosis things that needed to be lasered off, but I had a cyst on an ovary and scarred tissue from my appendix that had connected to my right hip. It looked like I had a small case of appendicitis at some point in my life. But everything went well and I feel great. I feel like I have more energy than I did a few weeks ago. It’s nice to feel good and healthy again.

My mom and Chuck took great care of me. I don’t think I could’ve gotten through it so smoothly without both of them there. I got to lay on the couch, watch movies, and play with Lexi, who seemed to know there was something wrong. She’d cuddle up around my neck and seemed to know not to go near my stomach.….

Welcome back, Julianne. Hope we can see you in the Final! =)

Anyway I never know she got a steady bf, but I am definitely happy for her. WIsh her happiness =D

Julianne Hough: “I’m Back And Sick Of Sitting On The Couch”

By Julianne Hough
Special to Fancast.com

Hey Everyone,

Just so you know, I’m up and back and sick of sitting on the couch. I just did my radio phoners and now I’m going to see Cody right now. I’m doing the CMAs tomorrow, so we don’t be able to practice tomorrow. We’re going to practice today for about half an hour with Len in his master class.

Even if he gets kicked off tonight, we’ll still practice. I don’t think he’ll get kicked off. Edyta is doing a great job with him. But he’s down there with Maurice. I think his charisma and humor is coming off and people are loving him. What’s great is that’s really him. I was on the floor laughing last night during his solo. I thought one of my stitches was going to pop out.

I was a little embarrassed for the whole country to see me in bed. I was like that’s so lovely. I didn’t have any makeup on and my face was swollen…it was great. But I wasn’t going to put makeup on. That would’ve looked stupid. But my recovery went smoothly. I got so much support. Rascal Flatts sent me flowers, other people sent flowers…there were enough flowers to make me think I was at my own funeral. That’s kind of gross, but true.

My mom and Chuck took great care of me. I don’t think I could’ve gotten through it so smoothly without both of them there. I got to lay on the couch, watch movies, and play with Lexi, who seemed to know there was something wrong. She’d cuddle up around my neck and seemed to know not to go near my stomach.

As for dancing, I haven’t done anything until …well, Sunday night I got up. Sunday was the turning point. Last night I was doing some stuff and it felt great. Watch the show tonight – there’s going to be a surprise.

I’m taking a red eye tonight to get to Nashville by tomorrow morning. I’m hosting the pre-show for the CMAs tomorrow with Craig Morgan. It’s going to be a long day. I’m excited. I grew up being inspired by all these artists and now I get to interview them and sit in the audience near them.

I’m definitely planning to dance with Cody next week – if he makes it through tonight. I have some great ideas. I’m very excited to get back.

One more note to everyone on Fancast who reads my blogs and writes in. I want to thank all of you for your support and prayers. I’m doing great and it meant the world to me to hear from you.

Talk to you tomorrow!

I’m glad to be back…

Julianne Hough: “You Don’t have to ignore Pain”

Julianne Hough would love to just get up and dance. Alas, she still has a bit of recovering to do, from a condition that she says was much more serious than anyone previously thought.
The two-time Dancing With the Stars winner, who underwent surgery last week for appendicitis and complications from endometriosis, tells E! News that she hopes her experience sends a message to women who might be too nervous or embarrassed to seek help if they feel something might be wrong with them.

“I’ve always been honest, and to be honest, I think it can help other girls who ignore pain,” Hough says. “You don’t have to ignore pain.”

Already, DWTS newcomer Lacey Schwimmer was motivated to get checked out for similar symptoms and ended up being diagnosed with endometriosis, which she is currently managing with medication.

Hough, as it turns out, suffered in silence for five years before enough became enough.

“I didn’t want this whole drama with, like, the cameras filming you,” Hough said when asked why she didn’t seek medical treatment sooner this season. “I kept going through the show and I was just kind of quiet, and through the show it just kept getting worse and worse.”

The 20-year-old Utah native finally decided that a hospital visit was in order on Oct. 21, when she hightailed it to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center following that night’s live-performance show.

“Right after the show, I came back and just curled up in a ball and I was just sobbing,” Hough recalls. “And there were cameras, and I’m like, ‘I love you guys, but I did not break my foot. This is something personal. Do not film this.'”

Although at first she attributed the drama to “a bad stomach,” even returning to dance the following week, the fan favorite ultimately revealed that she had been diagnosed with endometriosis, which arises when uterine-lining (endometrial) tissue grows outside the uterus.

Hough initially told her doctors that she wanted to hold off on surgery until this season of Dancing With the Stars was over.

“I wanted to be there for Cody [Linley, her partner],” she says. But the doctors said, “‘You know, Julianne, we really recommend you do this now.’ It’s actually a really good thing I did.”

Doctors ended up removing cysts from her left ovary, her bladder and other areas in the pelvic region, and also took out her appendix after diagnosing a mild case of appendicitis.

“I actually didn’t know I had endometriosis, but I’ve had it for a while,” Hough says, calling her condition “definitely genetic and hereditary.” Her mother and sister have it too, she adds.

But now she would really like to just get back to doing what she does best.

“I want to be back this week, but it may be another week just because we don¹t want anything to rupture or the stitches to fly out,” she tells E! In the meantime, fellow pro Edyta Sliwinska has stepped in to dance with Linley. And whether she’s dancing or not by then, Hough has signed up to sing her current single, “My Hallelujah Song,” on DWTS’ Nov. 18 elimination show.

Speaking of hallelujahs, Hough says that boyfriend Chuck Wicks has been by her side throughout the whole ordeal.

“When somebody can take care of you, and really care to take care of you, instead of someone taking care of you because you have to, you can tell they’re a keeper,” she says.

More stuffs here, captured from DWTS Comment board by Sambalover:

I’m sure most of you have seen on youtube the person in the UK, lunaleecreations, that does all the great remixes of Derek, Julianne and Mark’s dances. She always does a fabulous job of choosing the songs and matching the videos just perfectly. I just noticed tonight that she’d done some new ones lately that were better than ever, and thought you might enjoy.

Cha Cha Remix to Duffy’s Mercy (same song used for Team Cha Cha’s group dance) Now this is how to really cha cha to this song.

Beautiful Waltz Remix to Julianne’s song, Unraveling.

Wonderful Rumba Remix

And saving the best for last, she updated her famous “Derek Candyman” video from last year with new added footage. Enjoy the deliciousness!!
