The Living Courthouse

30 03 2009

Visited the Supreme Court – The Living Courthouse with Joanne, Esther and Linda on 14th March 2009

Packed with many people, first time visiting the Supreme court, very big place with 8 storeys, saw a colleague,  Eugene, there too, went around to get answers to get stamps for shoe bag souveniers..

Understand also some of stereotype topics like do judges or lawyers wear wigs, do judges use gauge to keep order, How you call judge in court…

interesting..

Had enjoyed myself on this day..

juskawaime had a day in Court

Thanx to Linda for forwarding this invitation to us.. and this also fit Jo’s plan about knowing Singapore better.. What other better way of knowing our Legal system than this? And it is free somemore! *Woohooo*

Queue was long, but was orderly and fast.. we were lucky we didn’t listen to people’s saying that it will be too crowded to go.. otherwise, we would have miss all these!

We didn’t able to see the criminal enactment – “Who pushed Humpty?” though… as it was long queue and not moving! I was curious who is the culprit! Who Dunnit! And my answer was shown below, pointing at the most prime suspect – the big bad wolf! Well all evidence was againts him!

WHO DUNNIT?

WHO DUNNIT?

And you know who is the culprit eventually?

I asked Eugene… and got the most unexpected answer…

The story is ….

Humpty was sleepy… so sleepy that he…. fell off the wall and resulted himself in concussion.

*cheeeyyyy*

Hi Pinti

27 03 2009

Sometimes you create an impression onto someone even if you dun really know them well..

I am happy I did.

Be it notorious.. hahaaa

I bumped into a 2 yrs junior in Novena Square or is it Velocity last Sunday. Her bf opens a shop there, and yes.. as we are in that shop trying to get something for Senorita’s birthday.. I didn’t recognize her then.. frankly speaking I dun even remembered her then… *opppzz*  >.<

Yes, I prob some idiotic spastic cold heck-care senior who dun care or dun want to know or dun remember who are my juniors in Tennis.. I only remember some names and faces.. Orrhh perhaps I just had SSTM (Short Selective Term Memory) … Sorry Pinti… pls forgive me..

Anyway as we are asking Pinti abt the usage of the Yoga matts, I was about to walk away when she suddenly said my name!

Errr… *eyes big big, head sideway, blur look*

 “You know me?!”

She explained that I look familiar and happened that I was also wearing a Cedar T-shirt that day.. So she acknowledge that I am Wati!

hahaaa … such good memory.. she still remembered me!! *beams*

But then, she added, “I still remember what your thunder bolt thigh .. *didn’t really catch this part* … and I remembered you are very ‘er xing’ (gross)!!!”

-___-“”

double diaoozzz

I was remembered as the very ‘er xing’ tennis senior!! hahaaa it is so hilarious.. I dunno if I should feel sad or happy … But being the ‘optimistic’ me, I decided I should be happy that my junior remembered me!! *beamz*

Anyway Pinti asked my frend if I am still as ‘er xing’ as in secondary school. I said “No!”

Jo nodded her head.

Deep-sixed said, “She has multiplied her ‘er xing’ over the years!!”

Gossshhh…. I am innocent…. where gootttt!!!!

Thanx for saying Hello to me, Pinti =) And I am indeed happy to see you again!! =D

This post is dedicated for you. Hope all is well with you. And thanx for your discount! *wink*

Timor-Leste Pictorial Exhibition

Thought this story is interesting, so sharing here..

“Timor-Leste – Land Of Discovery”

**************************************
The Legend Of Timor Leste

One day, a boy came across a baby crocodile struggling to make his way from the lagoon to the sea. As the crocodile was very weak, the boy took pity on him and carried him in his arms to the sea.

The crocodile was very grateful and promised to remember the boy’s kindness. He told the boy that should he ever want to travel, he should come to the sea and call, and the crocodile would help him.

After a while, the boy remembered the crocodile’s promise and went to the edge of the sea and called out to the crocodile three times. The crocodile told the boy to sit on his back and over the years he carried the boy on many journeys.

Although the crocodile and the boy were friends, the crocodile was still a crocodile, and felt an irresistible urge to eat the boy. However, this bothered him and he decided to ask the other animals for advice. He asked the whale, the tiger, the buffalo and mnay other animals, who all said, “The boy was kind to you, you can’t eat him.” Finally, he went to see the wise monkey. After hearing the story, the monkey swore at the crocodile and then vanished.

The crocodile felt ashamed and decided not to eat the boy. Instead he took the boy on his back and together they traveled until the crocodile grew very old. The crocodile felt he would never be able to repay the boy;s kindness, and said to the boy, “Soon I’m going to die, and will form a land for you and all your descendents.”

The crocodile then became the island of Timor, which still has the shape of the crocodile. The boy had many descendants who inherited his qualities of kindness, friendliness and sense of justice. Today, the people of Timor call the crocodile “grandfather” and whenever they cross a river, always call out, “Crocodile, I’m your grandchild – don’t eat me!.”

She will most probably get a job in Sg after graduation. Cousin Siuping studied in NTU, like me, and got married to a Singaporean and now resides in Sg..

Aunt Mildred

4 03 2009

Sharing something amusing.. see if u can understand it..

Aunt Mildred

Aunt Mildred was a 93-year-old woman who was particularly despondent over the recent death of her husband. She decided that she would just kill herself and join him in death.

Thinking that it would be best to get it over with quickly, she took out his old Army pistol and made the decision to shoot herself in the heart, since it was badly broken in the first place.

Not wanting to miss the vital organ and become a vegetable an d a burden to someone, she called her doctor’s office to inquire as to just exactly where the heart would be on a woman. The doctor said,’Your heart would be just below your left breast.’

Later that night…

Mildred was admitted to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the knee.

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE

4 03 2009

Received this email few times, thought to share here, for fun! =)

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE Fine :This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up. Five Minutes :If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house. Nothing :This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
(4)
Go Ahead :This is a dare, not permission. Don’t Do It! Loud Sigh :This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.) That’s Okay :This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That’s okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake. Thanks :A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you’re welcome. (I want to add in a clause here – This is true, unless she says ‘Thanks a lot’ – that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say ‘you’re welcome’ . that will bring on a ‘whatever’). Whatever :Is a woman’s way of saying Fight YOU! Don’t worry about it, I got it :Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking ‘What’s wrong?’ For the woman’s response refer to # 3. they can avoid if they remember the terminology.

* Send this to all the women you know to give them a good laugh, cause they know it’s true!!!
