JLPT3 result!

26 02 2009

Yo Yo …. I knew I will get my JLPT3 result this week.. based on experience of receiving my JLPT4 result last year around this time too.. last week of Feb

Prayed before opening the envelope sent by JCS and YES……..

juskawaime PAASSSSEEDDDD!!! WoooHHHoooooo

————– Results ————-

Writing.Vocabulary もじ。ごい 文字。語彙: 64/100

Listening ちょう かい 聴解: 83 / 100

Reading.Grammar とっかいぶんぽう 読解。文法: 155 / 200

Total: 302 / 400  (75.5%)

————————————-

Overall a de-provement (opposite of improvement! is there such a word? =p) of result from last year, my JLPT4 results, where I scored 78% .. but who cares!! ;p

I passed my JLPT3!!! And that is all that matters… =) Yes, I am glad I am in the 77% of candidates that passed!

Coz I cannot bear the thought of re-taking my JLPT3.. *Arrrghhh* What I heard from the some of the candidates last year is the JLPT3 of 2008 was easier compared to past years papers! I felt it was not that difficult too.. Not very easy.. but at least it was not very tough!! Thanx God!! So most prob this year 2009 will be a difficult paper for JLPT3? One year easy, one year difficult???

Thank you Lord for your grace & mercy!

juskawaime is just very very happy!! WeeeEEEeeee!!

Hope those who took JLPT papers last year also have flying colours =)

Oh some statistic on the JLPT to share, extracted from JCS:

One note that scare me is the no. of candidates who failed their JLPT1 and JLPT2… More than 50% failed! Gosh… I think I should just stop at JLPT3.. =p

15 01 2009

Starting my first class in Advanced Japanese Level today.. was looking forward to my classs!! =)

Was wondering who will be my teacher..

I was hoping my teacher will be Naoko sensei..

But no such luck.. my teacher is Mito Takako sensei..

Heard from Mel, she is good.. so crossing my fingers..

So far, first lesson so far so good…

sensei will not speak english in class for Advanced level, so had quite a ‘hard’ time understanding lesson…. haha

First lesson is normally introduction of sensei, self-introduction and revision of those forms.. haha basically, all lessons-learnt last year already give back to teacher… forgot most!! *Duh*

Will be missing 3 of her next lessons as I will be going to Australia.. And will be doing 1 make-up (hopefully got space) on tuesday next week. Hopefully, I will not missed too much info.. Anyway, my friends will be there to help me take notes.. =)

Btw, I have heard that my ex-teacher Tsukuma sensei has return to Japan, wishing her the best in Japan!

Sharing my self-introduction (in class):
わたしは(なまえ)ともうます。 みなさんは 「KK]と よんでください。

B2 から きました。わたしの先生は たかまつなおこ 先生です。

いま、ドイツの かいしゃいん です。

しゅみは りょこう や カラオケ や かいもの や たべもの です。

らいしゅ、わたしは オーストラリア ヘ 家族に あいに いきます。

しょらい、 お金があれば、 日本へ いきたいです。

よろしく おねがいします。

Here I come.. Advanced Japanese…. =)

JCS results

16 12 2008

Gotten back my JCS results for yr 2008 (Japanese, Intermediate level)

Relook at my previous posts, I have estimated 290/350 for my result, which is about 82.86%

Seemed that it is quite accurate.. coz I got abt as well..

  • Grammar/Vocabulary 89/100
  • Listening 32/50
  • Dictation 45/50
  • Writing 48/50
  • Oral 50/50
  • Essay 37/50

Total: 301/350

Rank: 79th/394

Ok some plus and minus in the individual tests, but they all add up abt the same 80+++%  hehee =p =)

I wanted to get abt 90% like last year‘s JCS results in Beginner level… but I guess I just have to be satisfied with such results =)

Thank you Lord for your guidance *muack*

JLPT3

7 12 2008

Finally it is over..
There was some ‘warning’ abt not to release any info (though I am not sure what kind of info they are referring) .. but anyway… I almost forgotten all qs also..

I am just so glad that it is over and now I can start packing my bag and prepare for my biz trip. Meaning .. I can get on with my life… have been confining myself at home these weeks.. getting fatter… getting more anti-social (AS) … hahaa .. Now can trully enjoy my trip and the coming festive seasons.. *Yiiippiiee*

I just hope I managed to pass my paper. God hear my prayer.

Thank you

JLPT3 preparation – 2007

5 12 2008

Hmm… so busy… can’t really catch a breath nowadays..

Was busy in work.. esp busy as there are reviews and also preparation for my biz trip next week… lots to prepare to make the biz trip effective and efficient…. Need also to prepare clothing as it will freezing over there… No time .. No time…. *heart beating fast*

Yet at the same time, my heart cannot be totally there in work.. as I also need to prepare for my JLPT3 paper!! I just can’t seem to juggle well… *double Sigh*

Yes .. IT IS COMING!!!!!!!!!1 This sunday (07.12.2008) will be my fate day.. *gulp*

I really feel that I will fail this paper.. and it is not surprising coz firstly I will so stupid to understand the qs, and even in 2007, the passing rate is only 63%!! My fate will be like these 488 that failed the JLPT3 paper last year… Oh God… *sobs*

Been trying to study these few weeks, but concentration level is really low.. and now the day is coming… concentration & seriousness is coming back .. but alas…. ‘jikan ga arimasen’ (no time)…. -___-“”

I tried JLPT3 paper 2007 last night to test myself and prepare for the big day..

My Kanji sucks, scoring like 12/20 in first section. Need to buck up on this. My vocabs is worse! I score badly for my section 3, 4 and 5 for the Writing/Vocabulary paper. So total 39/75 = 52/100! Dieeee… Time is no problem for me, I managed to do this paper within 35 min time frame, coz mostly just ‘tickam’ (guess) here and there… hahaa >.<

As for my Listening paper, I always score 5/12 and 5/11 for both section respectively. Or even worse. So best score I can get is 43/100 for this. Time frame of 35mins should not be a problem also, as it is either u listen and understand or not..

As for the Reading/Grammar,  This will be my crucial paper, that determine if I can pass my JLPT3 or not, since Listening and Writing/Vocabulary papers are normally suicidal (can’t count on them!). My particle section (Section1) is quite strong with 26/30 (2 incorrect), Form section (Section 2) is not very good (16/30), section 3 is is also half-past six (8/16). I should be proud that i scored full marks in section 4, 5 and 6 (and I think I need to score such in order to pass!!). And that gives me 93/119 = 156/200! Not the best score.. Again. timing of 70mins seems ok also.

Total add up: 251/400 , that gives me 62.75%!

FAILED!

I am very sianz as I noted down somewhere from my teacher that I need 70% to pass for my JLPT3! *double gulp*

I really feel like NOT going for my JLPT3 paper this sunday..

….

…….

……….

Wait a minute, I think passing rate is 60% for JLPT3?? Is it true?? I later saw this info from the JLPT registration phamplet… Passing marks for JLPT2/3/4 are 60% and above, while passing marks for JLPT1 is 70% & above…

Can anyone tell me & confirm with me…. which is true??

if it is 60%, i may still have slight chance.. and if yes, I shall go for it…

God, pls give me the concentration to study, the brain to absorb everything, the wisdom to answer all my questions correctly, the courage to go through my JLPT3 and the mercy to pass my JLPT3.

Thank you Lord!

JCS Classmates

19 11 2008

The next exam to prepare will be JLPT3 on 7th Dec 2008

Which is …. 2 weeks from now!!!!!! *GOSH* No time no time liao… time is running out….

This year, the location is in Nanyang Girls’ High School. My JLPT3 is in the morning, 0930-1245hr. I think JLPT4 will be in afternoon. My Jap classmates and I intend to go and celebrate on that day itself…. We will be meeting for dinner, if no change of plan.

We had a mini catch-up after exam today in TCC, Chris’s treat! =) Got to know them in class, and they are really nice, friendly people. I am glad to be-friend with them =D They will be taking JLPT4 this year, Ganbatte minasan!!

me+Tracy+Chris

me+Tracy+Chris

People always say that studying alone and going class alone has no motivation. Yes, trully, it always nice to do things with friends. But what if people/friends have different plans and paths? Do we change our plan/path just because of them? Are we doing something we trully want or just doing something together with our friends, just so we have companions?

I am not against such idea, but I trully feel we should decide on what we want to do and go ahead, unless it is for family or loved ones. Normally you should not do something just for someone or should not dun do something just because no-one is accompanying you… Even though ur alone at first, but perhaps along the way, you will meet some friends, befriend new people and you will never be alone forever… but there are paths that you must decide and take alone, if needed…

So be courageous, go pursue ur dream, coz you are worth that much..

JCS Exams – Listening, Dictation & Kanji

19 11 2008

I had my Jap JCS Intermediate (B class) Listening, Dictation and Kanji tests on this evening, 7-8pm.. 3 tests in 1 hr.

First is listening. There are 4 parts in listening, 1st part – with pictures (choose correct pics), there was this weather thing (i dunno what is the correct answer), direction check (answer is 2 – I got it wrong! Check with sensei), about bread pic, which person is xx … Total 5 qs for this section. I think maybe i got 2 correct? 6/15. 2nd part and 3rd parts, I totally blurr .. catch no ball.. trying to concentrate to listen and think too hard, that I missed the consequent qs… very disgusting feeling.. 4th part of listening should be my strongest part. Coz it was played twice. Should be able to score 10/10. So total for listening, if I can pass and score 25/50, I think I am a happy person already! Listening – my killer… esp for JLPT3! *sigh*

But seriously JCS should improve their sound speakers and recording way… many noise in background, voice is soft … i was just distracted with many stuffs.. *unhappy*

For Dictation, I should score well. Just in case, some mistakes here and there, I hope I can at least score 45/50. If not, maybe 48/50.

For Kanji, I am aiming 50/50. Should be able to score full marks, unless some careless accident/mistakes. I thought Kanji needs to write all, I was in for pleasant treat where there are 2 sections in Kanji, (multiple choices and written). I think many welcome the multiple choice section.. hahaa

So now having a break, but not too long as the next exam to prepare will be JLPT3 on 7th Dec 2008

Kanpatte!!

Thank you Lord for your wisdom and leading =)

JCS Exam – Composition

18 11 2008

I had my Jap JCS Intermediate (B class) Composition test on this evening, 7-8pm..

In class, we have practiced 3 compositions, (1) watashi, (2) Singapore, (3) Memorable places in Singapore… so I predict that the topic for composition test should be somewhat similar. Plus they cannot make it too difficult, otherwise nobody knows what to write!! My predicition topics for compo test/exam:
-shumi
-Travel
-watashi no chiisai toki
-kazoku
-tomodachi
-ni hon
-Shingaporu

And yes, 2 of the topics i predicted came out. You can choose between “watashi no kazoku” (My family) or “watashi no tomodachi” (My friend(s)).. U need to write between 350-400 words, follow composition rules, and also include at least 5 new sentences structures that you learnt in intermediate B class.

It should not be too difficult for me.. even though I started studying last night only. But at least I already studied once for grammar last week. I contemplated to write in pen, then I felt that I should write in pencil. In this way, I can easily erase the words and make the composition neat.

I think I have included more than 10 or 15 new sentences structures. I wanted to end the composition nicely, so I add on something like “the time with my family are pleasant/enjoyable. I like my family very much.” And that resulted: I wrote more than 400 words! I never think that I will be penalized for writing more (the more the better right), but I think I remembered that my sensei did mentioned abt that. My classmates confirmed it. *sigh* nvm lar.. minus a few marks here and there.. perhaps with good flow of story, good sentence structures, new sentence structures, kanji, katagana, right application of composition rules… I should score well.

I wanted to give myself 49/50 (minus 1 mark for writing too much).. hahaa … =p egoistic me! =p but lets be humble and realistic, I think there will be other minor mistakes. My estimate is 45/50 based on my previous composition but my conservative marks will be 40/50 for composition. Lord, let me score high! =)

Tomorrow is an important day, as tomorrow in 1 hr, there will be 3 tests – Listening, Dictation and Kanji tests. Total marks 150. The highest mark percentage of all my 4 days of test/exam. hehe…

But they should be the easiest to score.

Now I am going to study for them…

Kanpatte!!

Thank you Lord for your wisdom and leading =)

津軽海峡・冬景色 石川さゆり

15 11 2008

Always been following Blinkymummy’s blog since someone introduced her blog to me sometimes back.. She is now happily studying her MBA in Cambridge with her ‘Good Fren’ and I have enjoyable time reading what she shared on her daily life and thoughts ..

Thought wanna share something she recently shared in her blog abt her Japanese friend has shared on a particular singer, Sayuri Ishikawa 石川さゆり, who is one of the most popular enka singer in Japan.

Ishikawa Sayuri

Ishikawa Sayuri

Extracted from Blinkymummy’s:

Somehow we ended up talking quite a bit about Japanese culture. I told Takashi that I like the way some female Japanese singers sang in low voices and asked him about enka. Teresa Teng used to sing in this style too. And by the end of the night, Takashi sent us this video of the most popular enka singer in Japan.

津軽海峡・冬景色 石川さゆり

I somehow like this song and this singer.. I am not sure how old is she though… The youtube show a year 1977, I am not sure though if she sang that in 1977 or the song was written in 1977. But from Sayuri Ishikawa’s website, I think she should be still alive.. A beautiful lady with nice voice ~ juskawaime likes….. =) Plus you can learn Japanese words (Kanji and Hiragana words) and pronounciations from the song too… Niceee…
